Sciatica is nerve pain that travels along the path of the sciatic nerve, which runs from the lower back through the hips, buttocks and down each leg.
It can feel like a sharp pain, prickly tingling (much like a pins-and-needles feeling) or weakness that is usually concentrated on one side of the body.
What causes this annoying, painful sensation?
Sciatica is caused by compression, irritation or pinching of the sciatic nerve from a disc, bone spur or misalignment.
